The NOVASTARTALK Summer Institute is held at Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria Campus, conveniently located outside of Washington D.C.

Classes will be held in the Bisdorf Building on the 3rd Floor in Room 334A, starting promptly at 9:00am each day.  Please make sure to leave enough time to travel to the campus in order to be on time each day – traffic in our area can be busy, particularly during rush hour.

Public Transportation and Parking

The campus is accessible by Metrobus routes 25A, 25B, 25C, 25D and 28A and the Alexandria Transit Authority DASH Bus, route AT6. View a map of bus stops on campus.

The closest Metrorail stations are the King Street Metro (blue and yellow lines) – Metrobus 28A and DASH Bus AT6; Pentagon (blue and yellow lines) – Metrobus Ballston (orange line) Metrobus 25A and 25B.

The Alexandria Campus has ample parking for visitors and guests. Guests and visitors must park in the visitor section or metered spaces on campus.

Travel and Lodging

The closest airport to the Alexandria Campus is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).  However, you may also travel to Dulles International Airport (IAD) located approximately 30 miles west of NOVA, or to Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) located approximately 40 miles north of NOVA.

The closest hotels (directly across the street) are the following:

The Alexandria area hotels can be expensive, but budget rates are frequently available. We suggest that you search for bargain hotel sites like Trivago, Expedia, Priceline and Orbitz. These frequently offer much better deals. You want to look for a hotel near NOVA’s Alexandria Campus (5000 Dawes Avenue, Alexandria VA 22311).
