The 2.5 hour session focused on using social media in the world languages classroom to help create new connections and build communities amongst learners. We covered ways to extend time-on-task and learner exposure to the target language with tools that allow both the instructor and the students to engage in an interactive and interpersonal environment. Participants saw demonstrations of new applications of social media on both current and brand new platforms. They also engaged
with their fellow instructors on the ways in which the applications that shown could be used to meet standards-based instruction.
